Job description
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for efficiently handling and cleaning linens, towels, and guest laundry items while adhering to the luxury standards . You will operate laundry equipment, sort and fold laundry, and ensure that items are cleaned to the highest standards. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a focus on maintaining the cleanliness and quality of all linens and guest laundry.
Duties & Responsibilities
Laundry Operations:
Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry according to department standards.
Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure all linens and guest laundry are treated according to fabric care guidelines and cleaned to the highest standard.
Inspect items for stains or damage and take appropriate action, including pre-treatment or notifying the supervisor if repairs are needed.
Ensure that laundry is completed in a timely manner, meeting the needs of housekeeping, guest requests, and other departments.
Quality Control & Standards:
Ensure the cleanliness and quality of all laundry items, ensuring they meet luxury standards.
Inspect linens, towels, and uniforms for cleanliness and overall appearance before folding or delivering.
Ensure that no laundry items are lost or misplaced, and maintain accurate records of items sent to the laundry.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of linens, towels, and laundry supplies, such as detergents, fabric softeners, and other laundry chemicals.
Report low inventory or supply shortages to the Laundry Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager and assist with the replenishment of stock.
Ensure proper storage and handling of clean linens and laundry items to prevent contamination or damage.
Guest Laundry Services:
Handle guest laundry with care, ensuring that it is washed, pressed, and returned in the condition expected by guests.
Deliver and collect guest laundry promptly, ensuring guest privacy and maintaining professionalism at all times.
Follow special guest laundry instructions (e.g., delicate fabrics, specific washing instructions) to ensure guest satisfaction.
Health, Safety & Hygiene:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations regarding the use of laundry chemicals, equipment, and handling of laundry items.
Ensure laundry facilities are clean, organized, and safe at all times.
Handle laundry chemicals, detergents, and cleaning agents properly, following all safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
Maintain cleanliness in the laundry area by regularly sanitizing surfaces and ensuring the proper disposal of waste materials.
Education & Training
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
On-the-job training will be provided, including proper laundry techniques, the use of laundry equipment, and safety procedures.
Regular training sessions will be provided to ensure employees stay up-to-date on best practices and safety protocols.
