Job description
The coordinator will assess risks, develop safety procedures, and provide training to ensure a secure and compliant environment for both guests and employees.
Duties & Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and practices in line with local laws and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety inspections to ensure that all areas of the resort (including pools, beach, fitness, dining, and wellness areas) are compliant with safety regulations.
Monitor the implementation of health and safety policies to ensure that all staff and guests adhere to safety standards.
Emergency Response & Preparedness:
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures for all potential risks, including medical emergencies, fire, and environmental hazards.
Lead emergency drills and ensure that all team members are trained in emergency procedures and first aid.
Oversee the management of emergency situations, ensuring a swift and effective response when required.
Training & Development:
Provide health and safety training for staff in areas such as first aid, pool safety, food safety, and emergency protocols.
Ensure all new hires undergo health and safety orientation as part of their induction process.
Keep staff updated with new safety standards, industry best practices, and compliance requirements.
Incident Management & Reporting:
Investigate all health and safety-related incidents, accidents, and near-misses, ensuring proper documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Report all significant incidents to the relevant management and regulatory authorities as required by law.
Keep detailed records of health and safety inspections, training, incidents, and maintenance schedules.
Education & Training
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
Certifications:
Health and safety certifications such as First Aid, HACCP, CPR, and AED are required.
Additional certifications in occupational safety or environmental health (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are preferred.
Training:
On-the-job training will be provided to familiarize the coordinator with operations, safety standards, and emergency procedures.
Regular training sessions will be conducted to keep staff informed about new safety practices and regulations.
