Job Description
The Commis plays a pivotal role within the organization by executing specialized responsibilities tied to their department. This includes adhering to company standards, supporting internal operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed. The role demands adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently while maintaining service excellence and operational accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, including ingredient prep, mise en place, and simple dishes under chef guidance.
- Support chefs de partie and sous chefs to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, tools, and storage areas according to health and safety standards.
- Handle and store ingredients properly, check deliveries, and follow FIFO to minimize waste.
- Continuously learn new culinary techniques and recipes to develop skills.
- Collaborate with kitchen colleagues to maintain efficiency and teamwork.
- Assist with preparation for banquets, private events, and special functions.
