Job Description
The Chief Steward plays a pivotal role within the organization by executing specialized responsibilities tied to their department. This includes adhering to company standards, supporting internal operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed. The role demands adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to manage day-to-day tasks efficiently while maintaining service excellence and operational accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily stewarding operations across all kitchens, ensuring hygiene and efficiency.
- Prepare staff schedules and assign duties to maintain full coverage during all shifts.
- Ensure thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment, surfaces, floors, and utensils per health and safety standards.
- Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure timely restocking.
- Implement proper waste separation and disposal in line with company and environmental policies.
- Oversee maintenance and operation of dishwashing and cleaning equipment; report and follow up on faults.
- Conduct ongoing training for stewarding staff on hygiene procedures, safety, and chemical handling.
- Coordinate additional stewarding support during events or peak service periods.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all cleaning and dishwashing tasks.
