Job description
The role requires managing the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, dishware, and all service areas. The Steward Supervisor will lead the team of stewards, maintain inventory, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and support the kitchen team in delivering an exceptional dining experience for the club's members and guests. The position also involves enforcing sustainability practices in line with the beach club’s commitment to wellness and eco-friendly initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Team Supervision: Supervise and manage the stewarding team to ensure high levels of performance, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. Provide training, guidance, and support to all team members.
Cleaning & Hygiene: Oversee the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining, and service areas, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and dishware are cleaned, sanitized, and stored to the highest standards.
Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and dishware. Ensure the timely replenishment of stock and proper storage to avoid waste.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all cleaning procedures comply with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
Waste Management & Sustainability: Implement waste management protocols, including recycling and proper disposal of waste. Promote sustainable practices within the stewarding team to align with the club’s eco-friendly goals.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper use and maintenance of kitchen cleaning equipment, ensuring that all dishwashing machines and tools are functioning correctly. Coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs as needed.
Training & Development: Train new and existing staff on cleaning techniques, safety practices, and operational efficiency. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, food & beverage teams, and management to ensure seamless operations and a high level of guest satisfaction.
Quality Control: Perform routine checks on dishware, utensils, and kitchen tools to ensure they meet the required standards of cleanliness and functionality.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory, cleaning schedules, equipment maintenance, and staff performance.
Education & Training
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Formal training in hospitality or food safety is advantageous.
Training: On-the-job training will be provided, including familiarization with the club’s specific cleaning standards, sustainability practices, and operational systems.
