Job description

The Public Area Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of all public spaces. This includes lobbies, hallways, restrooms, outdoor areas, and other high-traffic zones. You will work to ensure that these areas are spotless, well-maintained, and provide a welcoming atmosphere for all guests and members. The role requires a keen eye for detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to upholding high cleanliness standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cleaning & Maintenance of Public Areas:
Clean and maintain public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and outdoor areas (e.g., patios, walkways, poolside).

Dust, vacuum, mop, and polish floors, surfaces, windows, and furniture in public areas.

Ensure public restrooms are cleaned and stocked with necessary supplies (toilet paper, soap, hand towels, etc.) throughout the day.

Wipe down walls, windows, doors, and glass surfaces to maintain a pristine appearance.

Ensure the outdoor spaces are free of debris, litter, and any items that could detract from the facility’s high standards.

Guest Service & Interactions:
Maintain a friendly and approachable attitude when interacting with guests, always ensuring a positive guest experience.

Address guest inquiries politely and direct them to appropriate staff members or areas as needed.

Ensure that public areas remain clutter-free and welcoming, contributing to an atmosphere of comfort and sophistication.

Waste Management:
Empty trash bins and replace liners in public areas.

Collect and dispose of waste, recyclables, and any other unwanted materials in a timely manner to maintain cleanliness.

Ensure that trash bins are clean and not overflowing, paying attention to high-traffic areas.

Health & Safety:
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure that public areas are not only clean but also safe for guests and staff.

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damage to facilities immediately to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance team.

Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to company protocols, ensuring no harm to guests, employees, or the environment.

Inventory & Supply Management:
Ensure that cleaning carts and supplies are stocked and organized, making sure you have the necessary products for the day’s work.

Monitor the use of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.

Ensure that all cleaning equipment is in good working order and report any malfunctioning equipment promptly.

Education & Training 

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

On-the-job training will be provided, including the use of cleaning equipment, safety procedures, and company standards.

Regular training will be conducted to ensure staff stay up-to-date with cleaning techniques, guest service standards, and safety protocols.

Working Conditions

9 hours ( +/- 90 minutes)

    This assessment evaluates key qualities essential for hospitality roles, such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. Candidates must score 80% or higher to qualify for an interview at the Job Fair.

     

  2. Register for the Job Fair 
    The registration link will be available after you pass the test.
