Job description
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of guest rooms and public areas. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests by ensuring that all areas are spotless and well-maintained. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Duties & Responsibilities
Guest Room Cleaning & Maintenance:
Clean and prepare guest rooms, ensuring they meet the high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Dust, vacuum, and clean all surfaces in guest rooms, including furniture, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure towels and toiletries are replenished according to guest preferences.
Ensure rooms are stocked with necessary supplies, such as water, toiletries, and other amenities.
Inspect guest rooms for any maintenance or repair issues and report them to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance team.
Ensure that rooms are free of any items left behind by previous guests and that all furnishings are in proper order.
Public Area Cleaning:
Clean and maintain public areas of the facility, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and elevators, ensuring they are spotless and presentable at all times.
Wipe down surfaces, dust, mop floors, and clean glass, mirrors, and doors.
Ensure that the cleanliness of public spaces is consistently maintained throughout the day, including re-checking areas after high traffic.
Laundry and Linen Management:
Collect used linens and towels from guest rooms and public areas, ensuring they are handled and transported appropriately.
Sort, fold, and store clean linens and towels according to department standards.
Ensure laundry items are returned to guest rooms or public areas in a timely manner.
Guest Requests & Special Cleaning Tasks:
Respond promptly to guest requests for additional linens, towels, or other housekeeping needs.
Complete special cleaning tasks or deep cleaning as requested by guests or supervisors.
Assist with cleaning of rooms during VIP guest stays or special events.
Health, Safety & Hygiene:
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment properly, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues immediately to ensure the safety of guests and team members.
Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards in line with the club's policies.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, toiletries, and linen, reporting any shortages to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Ensure cleaning carts are well-stocked and organized for efficient cleaning operations.
Education & Training
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
On-the-job training will be provided, including specific cleaning techniques, health and safety procedures, and the use of cleaning equipment.
Regular training will be conducted to ensure that all team members remain up-to-date on company standards and safety protocols.
