Job description

This includes ensuring that the gym is well-maintained, safe, and fully equipped to deliver an exceptional fitness experience to members and guests. The supervisor will also be responsible for supervising fitness instructors, managing gym schedules, and ensuring high standards of customer service and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the gym and fitness centre, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning at all times.
Ensure that all gym equipment is properly maintained and operational; liaise with maintenance teams for repairs or replacements.
Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the fitness area, including equipment, locker rooms, and common spaces.
Implement and maintain safety protocols in compliance with health and safety regulations, including emergency procedures and first aid training.
Team Supervision:
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of fitness instructors and support staff, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of professionalism and service.
Develop schedules for instructors and ensure optimal coverage for peak hours.
Provide continuous training and development for staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about fitness trends, new equipment, and safety procedures.
Customer Service & Member Engagement:
Foster a welcoming, motivating, and professional atmosphere in the gym.
Address member and guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
Build strong relationships with members, encouraging engagement and promoting gym programs, fitness classes, and special offers.
Organize fitness assessments and personalized training sessions as part of the club’s wellness initiatives.
Facility Management:
Monitor gym attendance and ensure all members have access to the services they require.
Oversee inventory and ordering of fitness supplies, including equipment, merchandise, and consumables (e.g., towels, water, supplements).
Coordinate and implement fitness programs, classes, and workshops tailored to various levels of fitness and wellness needs.
Health & Wellness Programs:
Collaborate with the wellness team to integrate fitness and wellness services, such as yoga, pilates, or personal training, into a comprehensive fitness offering.
Assist in promoting fitness challenges, special events, or seasonal programs aimed at improving member engagement and retention.
Administration & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of gym memberships, attendance, and any incidents that occur within the gym.
Provide reports to the Fitness Centre Manager on operational performance, including staffing, equipment status, and member satisfaction.
Manage scheduling software for classes, personal training sessions, and gym activities.

Education & Training 

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred.
Training:
Certifications in fitness, personal training, or a related field (e.g., Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Group Fitness Instructor, CPR/First Aid) are highly desirable.
Ongoing training and development will be provided to keep up with the latest fitness trends and techniques.

Working Conditions

9 hours ( +/- 90 minutes)

    This assessment evaluates key qualities essential for hospitality roles, such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. Candidates must score 80% or higher to qualify for an interview at the Job Fair.

     

  2. Register for the Job Fair
