Job description

The Assistant Studio Engineer is responsible for supporting the studio team in various aspects of audio production, including equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. This role focuses on providing technical assistance during recording sessions and post-production, ensuring the highest quality sound output. The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of audio engineering principles and a strong passion for learning and growing within the field.

Duties & Responsibilities

Studio Equipment Setup: Assist in the setup and configuration of audio equipment, ensuring microphones, mixers, and other studio gear are properly installed for recording sessions.

Recording Session Support: Support the studio engineer during recording sessions, helping with the technical setup, mic placement, sound checks, and adjusting audio levels to meet professional standards.

Post-Production Assistance: Assist with audio editing, mixing, and mastering under the supervision of the senior engineer to ensure high-quality finished products.

Sound Quality Monitoring: Help monitor sound levels and audio quality during recording sessions, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accurate sound reproduction.

Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of studio equipment to ensure it’s in good working condition for production.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues during recording and post-production, minimizing downtime and disruptions to workflow.

Studio Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain an organized and clean studio environment, ensuring all equipment is safely stored and properly maintained.

Collaboration with Artists and Production Team: Work closely with artists, producers, and engineers to support their technical needs and ensure smooth production workflows.

Health & Safety Compliance: Follow health and safety regulations when handling and setting up equipment to ensure a safe studio environment.

Continuous Learning & Development: Stay current with industry trends, new audio technologies, and studio equipment to continually improve technical skills.

Education & Training 

Degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field is preferred.

1-2 years of experience in audio production, studio environments, or live events.

Working Conditions

9 Hours ( +/- 90 minutes)

    This assessment evaluates key qualities essential for hospitality roles, such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. Candidates must score 80% or higher to qualify for an interview at the Job Fair.
